Downtown 2007
Wall Street Rising's 3 night
concert series on the plaza at 7 World Trade Center, September
17-19 had over 9,000 people attending! The shows, featuring
nine bands in total, were free and started at 5:30 pm, rain or shine.
The series was produced by
Michael Dorf, founder of the Knitting Factory and was sponsored
by the Lower Manhattan Development Corp., Silverstein Properties,
7 World Trade Center and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
All 3 evenings were miraculously
clear and the stars shone on Lower Manhattan.

Do
It Downtown! Discount Card Program
Wall Street Rising
continued the popular Do It Downtown! Discount Card Program

In February 2002,
Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg joined Wall Street Rising
founder, Julie Menin, at a press conference to kick off Wall
Street Rising's discount shopping program, Do It Downtown!
Comprised of a discount card and brochure and distributed
free to over 500,000 New Yorkers, visitors and tourists, the
card entitles cardholders to discounts at over 250 Lower Manhattan
restaurants, stores, hotels, professional service providers
and cultural institutions. Wall Street Rising distributed
the card through tourist booths and attractions, JFK and La
Guardia Airports, many hotels throughout the city, Lower Manhattan
residential buildings, major corporations, the Wall Street
Rising website and many other venues. |

Music
Downtown
This free seven-night
concert series was hosted at the BMCC Tribeca Performing
Arts Center from November 14-20. Produced by Michael Dorf,
the program featured performances from Jeff Tweedy, Buddy
Guy, Ryan Adams, Rickie Lee Jones, Cat Power, Aimee Mann
and many others.

Art
Downtown: Connecting Collections
The
exhibition featured selections from Deutsche Bank's world-renowned
corporate collection, as interpreted by guest curators
Mikhail Baryshnikov, Danny Simmons & Russell
Simmons, Diane von Furstenberg, and Robert Wilson.
These
outstanding practitioners from various disciplines chose
from works by artists in their own collections, and/or
works by artists represented in the worldwide Deutsche
Bank Art collection.

The
New York Mercantile Exchange Charitable Foundation's Kids' Day
On
Saturday, November 6, 2004, Wall Street Rising hosted a family
art day that coincided with its exhibition, Art Downtown:
Connecting Collections . With the help of the Church Street
School and of the Children's Museum of the Arts in SoHo, children
and their families were able to make watercolor postcards in
addition to drawing still life pictures and self-portraits.

Living Downtown Program
Lower Manhattan is the heart and birthplace of New York and
features many of our most treasured historical icons.
Wall Street Rising, in partnership with the Alliance for Downtown
New York, created a booklet to attract residents to Lower Manhattan.
Living Downtown is a free booklet that summarizes Lower Manhattan's
attributes such as its schools, community services, parks and
recreation, cultural, theatre and arts offerings, shopping,
retail and restaurants and modes of transportation in addition
to listing all of the area's residential buildings and whom
to contact for more information. Download

Downtown
Retail Attraction Program
From August 2002 to February 2004, Wall Street Rising Conducted
the Downtown Retail Attraction Program to encourage new businesses
to open in Lower Manhattan. Wall Street Rising worked
with over 1,000 clients through this program, including businesses
and cultural organizations and the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development, made it possible for many much needed
new businesses to open Downtown.

Art Downtown
2002
One of the largest public art displays
in the history of Lower Manhattan, this unprecedented
exhibition of over 110 contemporary paintings, sculptures,
and photographs was valued at over $17 million. This free
exhibit was presented in five buildings in New York City's
historic Financial District and ran from June 14-September
15, 2002. Heralded by the Grace Glueck of the NY Times
as an “ambitious roundup…there is something
here for everybody,” this show was not to be missed.
The second incarnation of this tremendous program launched
in the fall of 2004.

Wall
Street Wednesdays
An
enormously successful dining program that ran in October and
November 2001. Special $20.01 menus were offered by many of
downtown's best restaurants. The program increased business
by 400% to participating restaurants and introduced many new
diners to downtown's eateries.
Adopt-A-Company
Wall Street
Rising is proud to be a charter sponsor of Adopt-A-Company,
which is a unique and effective way to give corporate and individual
support to the many small businesses hurt by the September 11th
attacks in New York City . In essence, companies are urged to
"adopt" a small business hurt by the September 11
attacks and provide free business advice and other technical
