GENERAL THANKS

"First and foremost, we would like to commend and thank you and Wall Street Rising for your excellent work in reviving lower Manhattan. The September 11th attack has had a grim effect on the economic vitality and business of the area and it is only through the effort of organizations and initiatives like yours that our community will once again be vibrant...We greatly appreciate your effort and assistance in promoting our business and area. Should you have any questions or suggestions as to initiatives we may take or events we may participate in, we hope you will not hesitate to contact us. Your efforts have been greatly appreciated."

  Sincerely,
               Management

DO IT DOWNTOWN PROGRAM

"We are very excited about the Wall Street Rising Downtown Discount Card program. What a great idea to encourage people to shop, dine, and do business downtown. Congratulations to you and your team for developing this innovative idea and putting it into action so quickly. We are happy to participate.

"Battery Park City Day Nursery is celebrating fifteen years at 215 South End Avenue, three blocks from the World Trade Center site. Our fall enrollment of one hundred twenty students plummeted to eleven children when we reopened on October 1. January enrollment has climbed to fifty-six. We are encouraged by the support, both financial and emotional, from the downtown community. It has been a wonderful surprise to receive drawings, letters of support, and donations from children and adults all around the world. But, the fact remains, we must do everything possible to increase revenue to remains in business until more families and businesses again make their homes downtown. Loans and grants are necessary but it is most important that people see that the downtown neighborhoods are still wonderful places to live and work. The Wall Street Rising Discount Card is a unique way to help accomplish this goal.

"We look forward to helping other small businesses recover by using our Wall Street Rising Discount Cards. If we can help promote this effort in any other way, please call and talk with us."

Sincerely,
               Karen Klomp & Denise Cordivano

ART DOWNTOWN PROGRAM

"Thanks for creating the Wall Street art show. I really enjoyed the exhibition and hope the show is a great success. There are so many tourists downtown these days and you are giving them a free taste of art..."

Sincerely,

LIVING DOWNTOWN

"I just wanted to commend you for your efforts in forming Wall Street Rising as well as all you are doing for Lower Manhattan. To be in the throws of this devastation every day has to be extremely difficult, however, you bring hope and a bright future to the city, as well as the rest of the world, in your actions."

"I moved to New York four years ago and worked at Water Street and Maiden Lane for the first two years. In the fall and winter of 2000, I lived in Battery Park City. Because of that, I feel a significant connection to Lower Manhattan and truly miss being a part of its daily life, even though I still live 'Downtown' and work in Midtown. When I stayed at the Marriott World Trade for conference before I moved to New York, I thought I had hit the big time. When I walked through the concourses and skyways over to World Financial from the subway to my apartment where I had a view of the Twin Towers from my terrace, I knew I was part of something that many people would never experience. I now treasure those memories while mourning all that occurred and the lives that were lost."

"I was impressed with your ideas for the redevelopment. I agree with the need to make it a '24/7' community and the need for visible and exposed retail, along with office and residential space. Please know that I, as a (very no-name) member of the commercial real estate world of New York, will be following the progress of the Lower Manhattan Development Council, but as a New Yorker, will be applauding you every step of the way."

Good luck,

DOWNTOWN INFORMATION CENTER

"On July 14, 2004 I visited the Downtown Information Center.  I was pleasantly surprised to find such valuable information."

"This is the right place to keep the public informed about history and important events.  In my mind, such a center is long overdue and I am so pleased to find everything I need to know.  I found the employees very accomodating and eager to please.  Since I am a Senior well on in years, this courtesy was a pleasure to see.  I look forward to future visits when feasible."

"If you will have a mailing list on your agenda in the near future I would be the first to sign up.  In any case I wish to thank you for this service."

"In prior years I would pick up the publication The Battery Park City Broadsheet.  I was especially glad to find this publication among many more."

Respectfully yours,
